Parrots are often that amount or higher for one bird. I paid $200 for a conure. Chickens are just big parrots in many respects!

I love my $8 hens more than I think I'd ever love a parrot.

You can't sit on the back porch and watch a free ranging parrot, and it won't fill my fridge with eggs either.
