Hoping that someone might have an idea if these three chickens are Roos.
They are about four months old and I really did not have a second thought about it because they were sexed in front of me but this morning it sounded like my one mixed breed was trying to crow.
Not sure what to do now as we only have four chickens to begin with. I guess it will be my own fault for not noticing if they are but I just did not think about it and have never had Roos before to think about comparisons.
Any opinions would be great. THANKS!!!!

The Aussie mix is an obvious rooster. The red star is female, if that is truly a red sexlink. Males are mostly white. Can't tell on the first one because of the glare on the saddle feathers, but in that breed, often females have big combs.

I wonder if you can tell (chicks) which will be a rooster or a hen by its behavior. I have some chicks - about a month old - a few of them run to my hand when I feed them and just peck it really hard. Sometimes they will grab hold of my skin and pull it - OUCH! Only 3 or 4 out of 8 chicks do that.

Thanks for the fast info...
Anyone else have opinions?
It would not be a big deal I think if only one was a Roo as we would still get plenty of eggs.
Now that I look at some other pics I think my Black Australorps Mix is a boy too!!
Go figure; he is very pretty and good tempered though.

Sorry but all 3 are roosters. When you mix RIR with Red Star you can have boys this color.Your birds already have the shiny roo feathers on wings, sadle and hackle. They certainly take roo pose.
