Are these Sapphire gems and are they all pullets?

So this is more for me just to make sure but about 5 weeks ago I got 4 chicks, 2 Rhode Island Red and 2 Sapphire gems. Well, I hope they are Sapphire gems. So when I went to my local farm store (Murdoch's - if you are in northwest you should know what it is), they had a bin of assorted layers and I got two chicks that look like Sapphire gems (from my research). I am now just a bit skeptical that only one of them are or maybe neither bc they dont have light body then dark head. Is this just because they still only have temporary feathers? Other then that, I bought them all as pullets but just want to make sure they all are. Thank you!

Anyways, do you think they are all girls, and the blue ones are Sapphire gems, and Thank you!

Since a Sapphire Gem is a mix, it makes sense that the one you're questioning might really be a Sapphire Gem too. Murdochs uses Hoovers so you could look at the Blue feathered breeds on Hoovers website to sleuth. It might also be another one of their mixes "Prairie Bluebell." I think your names are super cute!!! I think mine was sold as bluebell..from TSC..do u think so? Pullets? Her comb is small and pink.

Hoover's Prairie Bluebell Eggers can look like anything. I have two that look like Brown Leghorns and one that looks like a Salmon Faverolle. Only one of my five looks anything at all like a Sapphire Gem, and she is considerably darker than the Gems. But they are all laying the most beautiful blue eggs, so ... I ain't complaining! Just FYI, Sapphire Gems lay brown eggs. I have five of those as well. All are sweet, friendly girls with the exception of one beautiful light lavender (?) or silver PBE, who looks very much like a Leghorn and acts like one, too - skittish, nervous, flighty and suspicious. But like I said, she is a beauty!

Just wanted to write a update, all are girls and just got our first eggs from the sapphire gems!

Congratulations on the eggs! Blue can vary wildly, so not every blue chicken will have a darker head and lighter body.

I have a RIR named Paprika too!
