My two silkie roosters, Carl and Hamlet, have different comb types. I'm a bit worried that one of them may be a disqualification. Carl's comb is like a tiny double comb with a pea at the back, and Hamlet's is just a pea comb.
What age are they?
If they are fully matured there combs are
Too small.
Carl's comb is not the right comb
And it is red.
He would loose a lot of marks for that
Hamlets comb is like what it should look like
But it should be a mulberry colour and
Should not have that little tint of red it has.
He would be better for showing than Carl but could not
Be classed as show quality if selling chicks from him
Due to the problems.
If you want I can tell you what I think of them
If you post a full body shot of both roosters
Whoops! I should have specified their age. They are both 4 months old. Here are the body shots:
Hamlet:
Carl:
Sorry if his pictures aren't great; he's an extremely wiggly chicken.
By the way, their feathers are weird because Hamlet is a smooth sizzle (I think) and Carl is a frizzled silkie. By the way, Hamlet is black and Carl is porclien.
Hi
Thanks for the pictures
His back seems too flat and a long body
He seems a little too tall too
He has a good beard and an ok Pom ( fluff on head)
The earlobe is the wrong colour
It should be blue but hamlets is red.
Just looking at his feathers feet and wings could he be
A silkie x sultan chicken?
