I’m new to silkies and bought these two in early March from a local feed store - they were so cute and fluffy and tiny I couldn’t resist even though they were straight run. Now one has started crowing - it’s not quite as big and loud as our other rooster so I wasn’t sure what I was hearing. And I really thought these silkies were hens, but again I’m new to silkies and may have over looked their roo-ness. Help! Now I’m thinking they’re both roosters!

Pictures from the side of them standing might help a bit too. I would say that if one is crowing, that one is 💯 a rooster. The other likely is as well based on comb size. However, I would say that there is a small chance that you have an early developing hen… those combs are about the size of a laying hen. It’s pretty unlikely though. I would lean towards two boys. Do they have streamers coming out of the back of the head poof or are their crests very rounded?

I’ll get more pics - I think one of them has streamers…. One sec

Ok, trying to get good side views is difficult but here are some…. I do see streamers on the one and seems taller, her/his name is Arnold. But the other, Carl, doesn’t have them and overall seems more squatty and round in shape…
My daughters thought it would be funny to name them Carl and Arnold, little did they know how correct they were!! Lol

They seem to be cockerels to me as well. The one crowing probably is one for sure. The other one looks just like him so I'd guess yes they are both cockerels.
