Are these Silkies?

Hi Everyone..

I'm pretty new to this, so need some advice!

I'm an American living in Bangkok, Thailand. I recently purchased some chickens, all represented to me as Silkies. They all have some key Silkie traits such as 5 toes and black skin, but they all look different from each other which makes me wonder if they are actually Silkies or not!

The black one below has black skin, 5 toes, very furry feet, and is starting to get a bit more hair on the head.

The cream colored one in the middle has 5 toes, no fur on the feet yet, black skin, and looks taller and lankier than the others. This one is younger than the other 2.

The 2 white chickens on the bottom have 5 toes, black skin, very fluffy feathers, but no big hair on the head.


Do any of you know if these are actually Silkies, or some other breeds? I'm confused and it is hard to get real info here because of language issues..

They all look cross bred in my opinion.

Definitely all Silkie mixes.

I went back to the breeder today and he said the small one is a Poland. That's actually what I thought after looking at photos online..

The other two are probably Silkie mixes...

None of those are pure Polish or silkie, could be a mix of both.

I know we have some members here that live in Thailand, can't recall right off who but you might do a search. They might be able to help you out.

I went back to the breeder today and he said the small one is a Poland. That's actually what I thought after looking at photos online..

The other two are probably Silkie mixes...

I used to raise Polish and the small one is not a pure Polish.
