The first really looks rooish with bigger wattles. But the second chicken appears to have a single comb instead of a the typical rose comb of a SLW. I feel like the SLW seem to have a more advanced comb compared to other breeds and then it stalls out for a while. The same thing may occur with a SLW with a single comb, but I don't have enough experience with that to tell you for sure.
Thank you for your replies. The first one already kind of crowed the other morning so I figured it was a male. We also have 4 sex linked chicks and they also have combs the same size as the second slw. We will need to get rid of the roo(s) as soon as possible.
The chicks are now 6 weeks old. I am posting a new photo to see if the consensus is still that these slw are roos! Your opinions are greatly appreciated!
