Granny's gone and done it again

Still kicking along. Just ate half a dozen tamales an acquaintance of my daughter made. She was selling them to help support her young nephew's chemo, so I bought a dozen. They were brisket variety and delicious.
I love tamales! Our family used to make them around Christmas. But it was DH #1 that always cooked the meat ... something I lost in the divorce, sadly. They sure were good, lol.

Back in the '70's I worked at the fur coat factory. One of the employees was a little old Mexican lady who didn't speak a word of English. Every year in the spring the place would close down for two weeks for vacation and this little lady would go back to her home in Mexico and return with a dozen tamales for each of her fellow employees. She was a sweet gal.

What a sweetheart!

God I'm old. I can remember watching them on TV back in the 50s. Comedy TV and variety shows were so very popular back then. I can still remember watching Walt Disney on Sunday night, The Lone Ranger and Sky King on Saturday mornings. We watched a couple of episodes of Sky King on I think Tubi earlier this year and we both laughed and couldn't take any more after the second episode. We thought all those programs were tops back in the day but now they are just plain hokey. Even the Lone Ranger. Like, okay, he wears light tan or white clothes and never gets them dirty. So where does he wash them when they do get dirty? And frankly, if I was Tonto, I would have taken a scalping knife to him the second time he ordered me around the way the Ranger did Tonto.

Only 68 degrees here right now. Hello September, good by summer. Supposed to be cool here all week with only 4 days in the 80s over the next 2 weeks.

Good morning, Ya'll! Happy Labor Day. Pa and I have been working outside this morning and enjoying the cooler weather.
MC, I'm with you about the Lone Ranger. I tried to watch an episode on Youtube but couldn't finish it! Watching our Porch Pirates is more fun.
