I love tamales! Our family used to make them around Christmas. But it was DH #1 that always cooked the meat ... something I lost in the divorce, sadly. They sure were good, lol.Still kicking along. Just ate half a dozen tamales an acquaintance of my daughter made. She was selling them to help support her young nephew's chemo, so I bought a dozen. They were brisket variety and delicious.
What a sweetheart!Back in the '70's I worked at the fur coat factory. One of the employees was a little old Mexican lady who didn't speak a word of English. Every year in the spring the place would close down for two weeks for vacation and this little lady would go back to her home in Mexico and return with a dozen tamales for each of her fellow employees. She was a sweet gal.
