Are these viable?

These eggs are supposed to hatch Saturday/Sunday. Does it look like we could have any possible live chicks here? Our sweet Silkie has been broody for almost two months. We don’t have a roo but finally got three Ameraucana eggs from a friend. One was a obvious quitter, supper stinky. We saw movement in the torpedo egg a couple days ago at candling. The normal size egg I’m very unsure about. This is what they look like today, I’m really not sure if these look very good for probability. My kiddos are so excited to see our first hatch. What do you think?

They look like you need to be patient to me. How long ago did you set them? They look close to hatching to me... I hope so for the sake of your hen.

I think I see an internal pip on the 2nd one. Be patient. I bet you'll at least get one baby.

Thank you for taking a look and offering. Your thoughts. They were set under our hen on Saturday April 25th at 5pm. So I’m guesstimating hatching should be this Saturday or Sunday.

Yes, it’s a very odd shaped egg. It’s a torpedo! That’s the one that looks more viable to me. But I really don’t know anything.

I've hatched quite a few. The malpostioned air sac is a bit worrisome. It looks like there is life there though. Let me know how it goes please. For future reference when you get eggs that may have been jostled around you can set them big end up for a few days before incubation. Sometimes detatched air sacs can reattach in this time..

I would mark the location of the air sac on the malpositioned one to ensure it pips in the air cell. You may need to keep an eye on that one. From what I have read though is that they'll often hatch out fine. Just remember that it can take 48 hours from the internal pip to hatch. Remember there is no hurry. In case you need to assist there are alot of great articles on the topic. The one thing they usually don't mention. Have cornstarch on hand. If it bleeds when you are helping immediately dab the bleeding with a qtip dipped in cornstarch. Then leave it alone in the incubator for at least 2 hours before trying again. The number 1 killer of new chicks is impatience... Most mention coconut oil so you'll get that part I think..

You are so helpful, thank you! I just finished circling the the air sac with a sharpie. I forgot to take pictures of it but will do in the morning. I don’t have an incubator, the eggs are under my silkie. I’m hoping I’ve done all I can on my part. I will definitely keep an eye on them. Praying for two sweet peeps, my silkie girl has worked so hard. I will keep you updated.

The more you mess with the eggs at this point in the game the less chance of a successful hatch. Just let the hen do her thing.
