Are these welsummers?

Bought a couple of welsummers for my first flock from IFA back on Friday February 14th. The chicks are about 9 weeks now.

The pullets are not looking like how I expected them to look, but I am new to chicken breeds.

Can anyone confirm if these two are welsummers? If not, what breed they might be?

Images include breeds that were sold the day before and day of.

Your chickens do look like they have some Welsummer in the genes,, but I do agree with you,, Not what you would expect them to look like.
I was searching thru my pictures,, but it was some time ago,,, and difficult to find my Welsummer.
Here is an Online pix, and it was quite identical to what I had.

I suspect your chickens may be mixed with RIR,,

Still good chickens, unless you want certain type somewhat to SOP. (Standard of Perfection)

Not Welsummer, maybe one of the hybrids like Gold Star?

Looks like half Rhode Island Red half welsummer.
The smaller one could be a welsummer though.

Gold stars are more blonde

Rhode Island red mixed in would make sense. The smaller one is a deeper red than the larger, with very little black in her neck.

Love them to death and probably wouldn't change them. I just find it funny that 5 of the 6 chickens I bought ended up being different breeds than anticipated. I have a couple of Australorps that turned into black sex links and an Americana when I thought I was getting an Ameraucana.

There is no such breed of chickens,, Americana,, It is how people often misspell the correct name,, Ameraucana.
Were you possibly thinking of the breed Araucana??

Yeah, I learned Americanas are a bit of a scam after getting her. I thought I was getting an Ameraucana. Ended up with an "Americana" which is basically an easter egger that some hatchery decided to give a designer name to sell more due to the confusion. Worked on me.

When I bought her, I thought it was weird it was spelled differently, but chocked it up to being a spelling preference. She was an impulse buy due to the other breed I actually wanted was sold out. I didn't look it up until I got home. An easter egger will be fun too I'm sure.
