On an answer to post #8, I think that it's ok to give them scraps, just I don't give mine any meat.

My chickens got all the fat and small pieces stuck on the bone, when I cooked five chickens for various foods for the next while (something like once a month cooking)

Normally I save the bones, but I had a bunch in the freezer already. They really enjoy the meat!

I fed mine spagetti and you would have thought I was giving candy to little kids. They raced around the pen with pieces hanging from their beaks. Quite entertaining.
