Not necessarily. I had to cull a chicken that would jump up and try to peck the egg as it was in my hand. She was the only one I ever caught in the act; and when she was separated for a few days they egg eating stopped. I always would check the remnants of the shell left behind, and they were hard. The other times I found peck marks in perfectly good eggs - needed to be thrown out. I cull IMMEDIATELY now. No exceptions.

I don't think culling is necessary in that situation. I have a hen that would eat perfectly good eggs. She also jumped at the eggs in my hand. I broke the habit and she hasn't eaten an egg since.

Well I have a business to run and she was costing me money. I tried to break her of the habit but I simply didn’t have the time to really focus on it and I have 20 pullets that are 17 weeks and do not need to learn that habit. She didn’t go to waste; family next door was fed nicely for 2 days.

Oh lol I didn’t want anyone to think I just kill my chickens senselessly
Maybe the OPs chickens are willing to change.... I would be interested to hear which techniques work
