Are they fertile yet?

Our RIR's started laying a month ago, rooster crows but eggs are still small.we have been candling the eggs but no fertile eggs yet. when will we see some fertile eggs?

You have to crack a few eggs open and check for fertility. Speckledhen has an awesome thread with pictures showing what they look like.
