I have been incubating quail eggs for 7 days now. Unroll yesterday the temp would go from 101 to lo5 all the time. My incubator,is a bin with a lamp going through the side of it.

If you are fluctuating between 101 and 105, then yes, you are probably going to have a bad hatch rate. Do you track the humidity?

This is what was happening to my DIY incubator project. The humidity was fine but the temp would eventually get up as high as 106 F. I was advised to install a thermostat. I decided to go ahead an order an incubator but either way it seems a thermostat is a necessity.

Btw, I was tracking the temp & humidity with a gauge I bought at Lowes.

Well I'm not sure if any will hatch and my dad is getting me an incubator tomorrow and hopefully a new batch of eggs
