are they good or too old?? hatchery experts help...

Try a college around you. We use to buy LSUs chickens at the end of the spring section. It was to teach the vets how a laying place should run. They were all scared to death use to tiny cages but they lived out their life at our house and we never went without eggs

Yeah why not... I'll try to find a way to do this... thanks in advance. ... :)

I would get some. If they don't work out you can always eat them. My friend bought a bunch of factory chickens. They were just over a year old. For a week or two they laid an egg every few days. After a while of having the good life with real grass under their feet, they perked up. They gained weight, beautiful feathers and began laying almost every day. They are also pretty hardy and actually disease free because they spent their lives fighting for survival and that makes the immune system strong.

If it's your dream to grow organic chooks and sell them or whatever then I wish you all the best with that. I believe it's a market area that will continue to grow in future. More and more people are becoming sensitive to chemicals and antibiotics, so naturally reared animals and their byproducts are a matter of life or death for some. That's actually why I got into raising chooks, for some family members who've 'hit the brick wall' in terms of what they can consume and survive on. Chooks raised as naturally as possible and kept as happy as possible are basically medicine for these people. You can taste the difference. I hope your dream comes true. Best wishes with all that. :D
