Hey everyone I've got 6 ladies dying to get out into their new big house. I just finished their coop and run this evening with the exception of covering the top (the walls are 6ft tall) and placing some rock or brick around the outside of the fence line. They're all completely feathered and are running out of room in their indoor pen. It's 9pm and absolutely pouring outside right now. My question is should they be able to go out tonight or should I wait for the morning? I don't want to traumatize them their first night out. I'm scared to risk putting them out until its covered and reinforced a little more but I also feel pretty bad that they're all cooped up inside. If I do put them out tonight should I put the heat lamp in with them and should I put a cover over their entrance for the night (there is no closing door on the entrance but that will soon change) anyways I plan on getting all of these things taken care of and reinforced but unfortunately my work schedule won't allow it until Sunday evening? Is that too far away?

Here's a pic of my girls in their indoor pen. Are they ok or are they too clustered?

Thanks BYC

They look like they have enough room for a couple of more days. I, personally, would wait until you have everything reinforced before putting them outside. Predators will find your every weakness.

Thanks KYTinpusher. Maybe I'm just a little too excited to get them out there. I just didn't want them too crowded inside. I'd much rather wait a few days then have to explain to my 5yr old daughter why daddy sent her "babies" out to possibly be executed.
