one of my hens has laid a huge egg which i guess is a double yolker !
if i put it under one of my broodys would it hatch out as twins ??
any ideas ??

lol, I really don't think that is possible...but it would be pretty cool if that happened!

You shouldn´t try hatch dubble yolkers. They mostly die before hatching or turn out deformed.
 
that was what was worring me i didn't want to cause any pain of distress to the chicks
 
From what I've read, they are usually not successful, though it does happen.

At times a "combined" chick develops, as well, like a chick with one head and two bodies. Someone on here has one with two vents and four legs -- who was alive and growing, last I read.

Personally, I would not set a double yolker, but some do, just to see what will happen. Your choice, of course.
 
That issue has been discussed last year to a great extent. Try using the Search option to find the threads about it.
 
From what I have heard, if they make it to hatch, most die in the shell because they push against each other and not the shell, therefore they cannot break out.
