Are we open to Criticism in BYC?

All of them are pets. All several hundred at a time. A lifetime of being individually known and wonderfully cared for and then one bad day.
Not for my farming family. None are pets but all are take care of very well

When I was young, the thrown away food from school lunch was saved for pig farmers to feed their stock. They did stop it. They said it was for health reasons.
At the time it was a great way to avoid food waste.
When I was a kid, we had one lady that had a special trashcan you were supposed to use for food waste at the cafeteria.

Anyone else here go vegetarian or pescatarian and getting chickens or stopped eating chicke?
No, as a matter of fact, the original plan was and is still is for self sustainability. I refuse to eat anything that I wouldn't be willing to kill myself, and so for a time I was vegetarian (ate fish because I've never had issues catching and gutting them) but eventually got my head around this issue.

I processed my first rabbit a couple of weeks ago. I thanked it for it's life and for allowing me to continue mine, gave it affection and held it gently before the quick and humane dispatch.

I do not have a kid but I look at the money that is spent on education like this:

Me and you pay school taxes so kids stay at school and find their future so they do not turn to thieves so me and you can keep our garage door open not being worried about thieves since the society is a better place for all of us due to money spent on education.
LOL you have an extremely utopian view of how tax money is spent, and an even more delusional view on how effective the education system is.

Well their view is of how it *should and is supposed* to be.
But we all know what is supposed to be and what is are two entirely different things.
