are welsummers a auto sex breed?

No, it is not 100 percent reliable as a chick, talking about eyeliners and V's on their heads. The probablity of males and females by observing the V's and eyeliners are a bit higher. Some lines are better than others.

As the chick turns into a young adult, the differences between the males and females are different and you can tell them apart from males and females.

i thaught it was something like girl chicks have v's on their head and boys dont

A late friend hatched a lot of Welsummers a few years ago. He saved 100 day old pullets and gave the rest to an Amish family. He lost 1 and had 94 pullets out of the 99. He told me he had a 1920's poultry magazine that had an article on feather sexing day olds in 7 or 8 color patterns. Tom
