Are worms good for chickens?

I know it is so hard to dig near them without dumping the dirt on them!!! once I accidentally dumped a whole shovel full of dirt on a hen that was scooting around looking for worms!

My hens love worms. They go crazy if you throw a couple in their direction. Unfortunatly they don't want anything to do with catapillars. There is an oak tree over their coop and run, and we have catapillars, lots of catapillars! They won't go near them. It's too bad because they would have a great food source. I guess they just don't like the furry little buggers. Maybe they tickle their throats.

Toss three nightcrawlers into a run with 16 laying hen chicks. What follows next is a modern day version of the Keystone Cops. All worms are from my yard, and they will find then eventually.

i suppose they are because it seems natural to chickens to eat them, chickens have been eating worms practically ever since they existed i guess
