Are Wyandottes good layers?

I'm wondering what you'd get if you crossed a Wyandotte with an Ameraucana....

I love Wyandottes they winter fine here in Oklahoma but the summers are a bit harder on them(hot and humid) but they are good layers and lay pretty much all winter for me. I would have more if I could find them.

I know you've already got plenty of answers, but my BLRWs are good layers......my blues not so much....but they're nice eye candy anyway!

I just have to say that Henderson breed chart is NOT accurate

I have had several rare breeds and things like temperment, egg laying, heartiness....really varies with the strain, or breeding, not necessarily with the breed itself. Take the chart with a grain of salt Good luck.

Excuse my ignorance - what is BLR and BBS? Never done pedigree birds before so I have a lot to learn!!
