Are You A Brinsea Owner? - April Hatch Along - Prize: Ecoglow Brooder!

No wonder my back hurts!!!I just realized I have built 3 coops this year & I'm now on # 4. Not this year. Should say within a year. #1 coop is 230 sq ft. counting the run. #2 coop is 330 sq ft. counting the run. #3 coop is a small pen for coturnix its 3' x 8' . # 4 will wind up around 300 sq ft counting the run. Stick a fork in me I'm done building coops for a while.

I'm in lock down and should be hatching sat & sun. I've lost power a lot this month and am worried about the hatch. Of course, I've haven't been home to see how long the power has been out. Just come home to all the clocks blinking and the

" on the brinsea. I'll feel so much better when I hear & see them.

Got my first chick today!! and lots more pips! I will take pics in the bator when I get home - I had to go to work. Too bad since the first chick out was very photogenic.

for the both of us! what are you running your humidity at? i'm running 55 the 1st 25 days then upping it to 80-85 for hatching. hoping this produces a better hatch than my last duck egg hatch attempt were none hatched.
this site was given to me by the person i bought the eggs from
http://ahdc.vet.cornell.edu/sects/duck/hatcduck.html

I battle high humidity here so I primarily do dry hatch, weigh my eggs daily, calculate weight loss and then +/- moisture. I'm really pleased how well these candle- much easier to see then the chicken eggs! But they are so big!

Thanks for the link, I will check it out. What types of ducks did you set?

(Randy you must be lovin the chatter! Come and build me a coop too please)

the eggs are from silkie ducks from a farm out in california. should by a smaller sized duck when grown eggs are about the size of a large chicken egg. so not too big but the shell feels thick will keep a close eye on them when it come time for hatching. last attempt had pips but the ducklings died before they made it out very sad.
