Hi y'all,
Are your ducks laying yet? I am in SW Wisconsin and the girls have been on "strike" since end of Dec. I know it is good for them to take a pause. Just don't remember when they start up again. I have started leaving the light on in the hut.
Are you getting eggs yet?

I was getting 1-2 in December and early January. Then it went up to more like 2-3 the second half of January. I'm now up to 3-4 most days. But I have 15 that *could* be laying, so I think they are SLOWLY increasing but not totally up to full on eggs everywhere yet LOL.

NOPE! Been checking every day here in Utah. I was wondering the same thing, when they should start back up? The last 2 years mine laid throughout most of the winter so I have no clue, anyone?

No eggs yet in Vermont. I have 2 Rouens (6 and 3 yrs old) and 2 Muscovies that will be 4 at the beginning of June. They have a not very bright light on in the barn during the day as it’s in a very shaded area, but no light at night. One Muscovy is starting to chirp off and on, which is a sound mine make only during or near laying time. Mine usually start building nests for a week or two prior to starting back up. No nests have been created yet.
