Are you preparing for not-so-good-times ahead

The National Firearms Act registry, wherein all full-auto weapons must be registered, was closed to new entries in 1986. The only way to acquire a full-auto anything is to buy an existing weapon.
Like Bigdtc said. Expensive! Still cheaper than getting caught with a illegal gun.

.Actually single shots from a semi-auto are more useful, and less wasteful. Anyway there is something I don't think that's been touched on yet, an advanced first aid or trauma kit. Just started putting one together myself and was wondering why I hadn't thought of it earlier!

I think that I originally misread Boyd's post about a full automatic conversion. My original take was that he was speaking of making a full automatic illegally. Taking a recently manufactured weapon and putting parts into it that convert it to full automatic is USUALLY illegal but there is an exception. The illegal way is to swap in internal guts that allow full automatic operation. Time in the FED big house if caught. That is a known fact.

What Boyd was referring to, I believe, are some of the new bump fire stocks. Google "slide fire stock". Most semi auto rifles can be bump fired. That is where the rifle is pulled forward while being fired. The recoil lessens the pressure between the trigger finger and the trigger allowing the trigger to reset as the bolt closes. The forward pressure then pulls the trigger again. It normally isn't all that controllable. Recently a company has come out with a bump fire slide stock. The rifle floats in the stock and makes bump firing much easier to manage. I was skeptical until I went to my dentist a few weeks back. My dentist is a Class 7 FFL and deals with older and new full automatic weapons. He used one of the bump stocks and was impressed with the level of control that it provided. The company making them has a letter from the ATF stating that it is not considered a machine gun so it is legal in any state where the base rifle is not banned. The problem is that the stocks are selling for more than I am willing to pay and if the ATF ever changes their minds and rescinds the letter (look up atkins accelerator) then all of the stocks will be illegal to own with no financial recompense to the owner. If they drop the price to $200.00 or less then I'll pick up a handful.

Let's see. If I could, I would start stockpiling the following:
Guns and ammo, chocolate, tp, chocolate, alcohol (for medicinal purposes, you know

), chocolate, fuel, chocolate, drinking water, and oh yeah chocolate. So, basically the necessities.

I think my list is about the same...except you forgot one thing: Chickens!

Guns and ammo, chocolate, TP, chickens, chocolate, alcohol, chickens, chocolate, fuel, chickens, chocolate, drinking water and chocolate.
