Are you starting to see egg production go up yet??

we have 8 hens and got 7 eggs today! Guess whos having eggs for dinner!

From 14 hens(granted the three Welsumer pullets have yet to start laying) we were getting 1-3 eggs a day November to January without additional lights. In the past week we are up to 5-7 eggs a day and one of the Welsumers has started squating now. Since we didn't really need the eggs the light was not a problem and we decided the break was good for the girls. We would rather have them lay longer and be healthy instead of being short-term production machines.

I got 6 eggs today!!! Here in Texas the snow is still melting. Last week I was lucky if I got 2 a day...boo!! My goal is to get enough daily to start selling them!
