Are you supposed to trim their nails?

I only have 6 bantams... so I do pay special attention to them.

I first us a flashlight and put it up against the nail so I can see how far the toe has grown down in comparison to the actual nail. I then clip with a dog nail clipper... leaving a little room between the nail and the toe. I then use Pedi-Paws (which I got for my dogs, but works great for my girls) and sand and shape their nails into a managable length and width.

I have a couple girls whose nails grow wildly fast, and others I really don't have to touch.

are their nails the same as dogs where you have to watch for the vein inside (is that what you were just saying

). that would make it tricky, probably involves washing their feet to eh?

Yea, you have to watch for their toes growing inside the nail. I don't wash their feet unless really dirty... the flashlight allows me to see through the nails.
