Are your chickens this chicken?

I guess my chickens are just too curious for their own good....they are unflappable when it comes to stuff like that. The only thing that really seems to get to them is when my hubby shushes them out of the garden, you would think he is a monster for a little while after that. It is all too soon that they forget the monster and head straight back to the garden.

Hilarious thread.

I keep a plastic chair in the chicken yard, upside down of course. I have to hide that I am turning it over to sit on it. Of course if I leave it up, they poop all over it.

I had a fleece blanket in the storage area that I was using to cover the wire dog crate when we introduced another chicken, I accidentally moved it very quickly, and they all FREAKED! One jumped so high that she hit the roof over the run. LOL!

I've determined that my chickens would have never voted for Obama... they don't like change!

I put a new vinyl floor and shavings down in the coop and they wouldn't go in. For 3 nights now, I still have to go round up a few hens who are protesting sleeping in the coop because the floor is white and has clean shavings! Then I hung the feeder and waterer up on chains, moved the corn planter and broiler tractor that was next to the coop, into the barn and they really went nuts. They were walking around clucking about it all afternoon! Then last week I built new nesting boxes and put them inside. That should really put them over the edge I'm sure... especially since I had to keep them locked in today.

Every time my son takes in the mower bag to share fresh clippings, it's total mayhem! Something about that big black bag. They get over it pretty quickly, however. They love fresh grass clippings!

Now I know where the term "chicken " comes from! I've been wondering since mine are bomb-proof to an annoying extent. They are always underfoot and that's not always safe.

They are not afraid of the big, loud diesle tractor starting up and moving,

the cars,

the dog (which has killed 3 of them)

, us shooing them with yelling and hand and rake waving

, us stomping at them to get out of the garage or workshop

. Oh! for that matter they aren't afraid to jump right up on the table saw while it's running!

I love my little fluffy feathered balls

My Chickens see me all the time letting them out and closing them up and will follow me if I have a bucket in my hand. (might be food) One evening I walked down wearing my new jammies that the DW bought me, they were black with 8-balls polka-dotted. (Sorry for that mental picture of an old coot with polka dotted jammies, but it is part of the story) The Chickens and Guineas let out a tremendous racket and ran to hide. I think it looked like giant eyeballs coming at them.
