Hello everyone.. I've got a slight duck addiction!, and I just need to know who is just as bad! haha..
Because I have got such a great bond with my ducks, and they are all very well behaved and laid back, I have found it is really great fun to take them for days out when I go to visit friends and family.. I pop them in a simple bag, with board for support and a soft bed inside, THEN we go on the bus! They love going in their bag, they love to visit new gardens, and at the end of the day they love to see their own bed!
The thing that worries me, Is I've never seen people taking their ducks on the bus before haha..

COME ON PEOPLE ADMIT IT IF YOU TREAT YOUR DUCKS LIKE BABIES HEHE

Years ago I took a duckling on a plane with me- a made two bags- one for each trip as it would grow considerably in the time I was on my holiday. Ducky visited the beach on many occasions while she was in Sydney- went to shopping centres etc- basically anywhere I went - but my dads new wife wouldnt let it actually sleep in the house- so it was outside in the laundry at night.

Today I was at a friends house and I was talking to the duck she was holding- I do have a certain voice I use when talking to ducks- and got some very strange looks from here son - especially when I kissed the duck on the bill.
I wouldnt say I treat mine like babies- as I have just so many at times- but Ollie does live in a babies portable cot due to his disbility, and all mine get a bath every night and cuddles. They can definitely become" part of the family" though.

I not only have 5 adorable babies but I am now a proud Grandma of 1 duckling!!!!!! My own daughters say my dog and ducks are more spoiled than they are!

Yep they're my babies!!!! My two sons are grown 21 & 24 with girl friends now.. I don't see them that often.. they are my human babies.. my cats, dogs and ducks are my animal babies. they are part of the family too... The dogs sleep with us and go just about every where we go.. Hubby said no ducks in house or they'd be in here too.. the cats stay out side also except for Miss Priss who comes in to sleep and leaves..
I think my oldest will one day have ducks. The youngest looks at them and see's dinner!!!! Little stinker..

thats is funny that your daughters tell you lol .. My son does too, first the ducks steal his cuddly toys to snuggle up with when ducklings, then they steal his 12 ft paddling pool, Then they steal the whole garden, so he is forever being told "I will be with you in a minute son, I am busy outside with the ducks" lol I have explained to my son if he had webbed feet, reathers and a long beak I'd give him the same attention lol .. we are bad mommys to human babies

you took your ducks on a plane! well that just beats mine going on the bus lol and on the beach! wow .. I can just imagine you have been getting funny looks off people too lol .. The man I bought my Muscovy off, he sold his birds for meat!, I told this man that the duckling I am buying off him will indeed be spoilt with affection, he said he would never allow ducks in his house, he thought i was completely Mad lol .. It sounds like your ducks are your baby's really lol
I have a new thing to say to peolple now haha.. when people tell me I am mad having all my pets, I make sure they know they are mad for not having lots of pets!, because how can they live such a boring life without ducks! lol ..

Hehe DuckLover179 admitted it too lol

So far there is 4 of us that are completely normal people

This is my baby. She doesnt come into the house any longer, but she is a darling girl. She was very sick when she was about 6 months old, and needed to be inside with us. But now whenever I am outside she is always there with me. She is a silver appleyard duck.

Its not such a good photo of her, it was taken months ago when she was sitting near the back door wanting to come inside one night when it was raining, but Its one of my favourites of her.

Aww She is very beautiful indeed.. Glad she recovered from being sick, I love appleyards, my drake appleyard is a big boy, i thought he would be the boss, but he is too daft to be the boss lol ... And its lovely bond with them after you have nursed them, they know you looked after them
