My Tom has been strutting and has been very sweet on the ladies. I have been getting eggs since the second week in January. I have 7 in the incubator and I think only 4 are fertile. They are suppose to hatch on the 28th so we will see.

I just bought an incubator for the first time ever in my life a couple of weeks ago. I have 10 turkey eggs in the incubator. I guess I should candle to see if they are all fertile. :/

I built mine. I've heard that the store bought ones don't hold the heat as well. Plus it's cheaper to build one. I did candle my eggs. You will definitely know...you will see a dark spot. Good luck.

I wouldn't know where to begin as far as building an incubator. :/ I have never candled any eggs before, so this will be a learning experience for me.
 
I looked up incubators on here and built the one like the Chic Bator...look it up. It was real easy however the thermostat went out and I had to change it. I bought a thermostat, fan, and heater combo off incubatorwarehouse.com. As far as candling, on the 10th day or afterwards take the egg and a bright flashlight and go into the darkest room preferably at night and place the flashlight at the biggest part of the egg. Take your hand and wrap around the egg and light so no light escapes and you'll be amazed at what u c.
