Are your May babies laying?

My barred rocks hatched around April 18. Flora laid at 21 weeks, Greta laid at 23 weeks. It's now 26 weeks and Ruthie has just started to squat. She's always scratched to a different drummer. Bok.

Some of my May babies are laying. They were hatched 5/11/11 and 5/16/11. The four from 5/11 (doms) are all laying. I have a few others from the 5/16 hatch that are laying. All of mine have pink combs, but not all are doing the "squat" that I look for, nor will they submit to the roosters. With the shorter days and cooler nights coming on I am not sure if or when these resistant girls will start.

I have nine girls hatched around May 20th. Three of them (RIR, BL & BR) started laying about a week ago. Today I found my BO snuggled into a nest, so she should start laying any time now.

I don't know exactly when they hatched, but I think they were about 2 weeks old when we got them in the middle of May. We have 2 barred rocks, 1 RIR and 1 black star. We got our first egg (yay!) on 9/30 and we've been getting 1 sometimes 2 most days since then. I don't know which ones are laying, but the eggs we get are noticeably different. They're all brown, but some are darker with slight speckling and the others are a paler even brown.

The eggs are still pretty small - any ideas when/if they might get a little bigger?

None of my Spring pullets are laying yet:

My newest additions were hatched around May 24th. 3 cinnamon comets, 3 barred rocks, 3 Americaunas and 3 Brahmas. 2 of the cinnamon comets started laying last week. None of my others are laying yet, however, the BRs are squatting. I have on Americauna that is blue colored and so huge in comparison to my other girls that I was afraid I had a rooster. This chicken, who I call Blue is the same size as my Brahmas and not squatting. I'm still waiting for my colored eggs.
