Arg... my MOTHER!

*A Carolina Chick* :

Sounds like you need to tape record her and make the "Best of" tape. Actually, the "worst of" . It may open her eyes. If it doesn't ....she is a lost cause!

Has anyone actually done this?

I'm so sorry for your loss; I can't imagine growing up without my mom. She is in no way perfect but then neither am I. I get so mad at her at times I could literally rip her head off with my bear hands but I love her with all my heart.

I really think it’s supposed to be that way, if it weren’t we would probably never leave home and have lives of our own.

I, too, am sorry to hear you lost your mother at such a young age. It's traumatic at any age to lose a parent, but even moreso when young.

----

During the berry-picking outing DM was complaining about *her* mother. I said, "Remember that someday for when you have your own daughter." She didn't get it.

The other day she sent me a funny email about why pets were better than teens. I replied that I thought “11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children ” was the funniest (b/c I can't imagine a teen selling a child, it's so ridiculous... but selling chicks is fine).

Her reply: "Yea, right. Fat chance you will ever get preggers."

I'm hurt and upset. I do want kids, just not now. There's no reason for her to be mean about the fact that she's not a grandmother yet.

I feel y'all's pain., but one day you all will wish you had your mothers back. Put up with them while there here they will be gone soon enough and you would love to hear your nagging mothers voice once more.

this post cracked me up! are we related? my mom has OCD. big time. she gets mad when i say so. but she cleans everything constantly. if you butter your toast, you'd better wash and then put the knife away before you sit down to enjoy it because if you GASP leave a butter knife in the sink for 20 secs, lord knows the world will come to an end.

this is why she is in Nevada and I am in Ohio. i love my mom but several thousand miles does us good.

I hearya on this...
The last two weeks have made me realize that you CAN catch senility...
My DH's parents are 89, the both of them. And I have done more ridiculous boneheaded things than I really wanna think about...

I'm sorry your lost your mom,Carla...Mine's been gone ten years already. I miss the thought of having my mother around, but her antics I don't miss one bit...which is another story for another day.
The same with my inlaws story...

Agreed! My mom is awesome! She even helps me feed my birds, and is very proud of the things Im interested in. She rarely nags at me, but my brother is another story.

After a day with my mom I need a bottle of vodka. I can SO relate with this post.

I've told my mom she is just like her mother and that just makes her SO MAD.
The she starts with the "I just can't talk to you" BS.

They don't even realize they are doing it.

My mom and I are a lot alike, so I can deal with mom. It's my dad all the above applies to. Don't even get me started. I need a drink just thinking about it. I can see why she divorced him.
