Argh!!! (Ebay rant)

Actually, I think she does have a case because she can prove that they didn't come from you, which your ad states they would. She did get eggs, and should be happy about that, but she didn't get the eggs from you (based on whatever traits your ad described that she liked enough to bid on). She can prove that, so there's a good chance they'll side with her.

Maybe offer to send her eggs from your quail as soon as you get enough? Honestly, I think if she files against you, she'll probably win, so it might be worth it to try and work it out, even though there's a very good chance she IS going to incubate those, anyway. She's probably more mad that you just changed things without talking to her than the fact that they came from elsewhere, but you never know. I think if you're nice and explain things and apologize for the misstep in communication, because you were just trying so hard to get eggs to her and honor that auction.....maybe you can get her to lighten up and not file. Good luck.

I tried that when I got the first email from her asking why they had come from FL. She said she doesn't want the eggs she received or any from me either.

Well, the listing does say 'my button quail'...so I guess it does say they would come from me. Guess that's another thing I'll need to reword in future listings

If your friends quail were hatched from yours, technically they would be from you. You could always add her as your "partner" and say that you ship from the closest person?

Several of them were hatched from mine, I'd thought about telling her that.

I doubt I'd make such a fuss over it, but I'd be a bit peeved - I pick eggs to have shipped based on location, preferably as close to me as possible. That said, I'd probably try incubating them anyways, worth a shot, right?

Saw your response above and based on that, this quote is what I'd to, too. Make sure she can't ever bid on anything of yours again and keeps you from getting any marks on Ebay/Paypal (not that I'm sure they'd do anything other than refund her,but better to keep a clean record).

To be honest, I only buy off ebay and not sell. From a buyers point of view, I can understand where she is comming from. I have bought many eggs from various breeders. When I buy a sellers eggs, I want their eggs for a reason. Whether Im spending 99 cents for a doz or $50 for 6 eggs. I want their stock.

I try my best to see sellers as being honest and I look carefully at their feedback, theirs ads, read what and how the buyers state their items and terms, then I'll decide to bid or not. If Im bidding on your eggs, I want your eggs. If the order cannot be fullfilled due to the hens not laying well, a preditor got the eggs, etc, I will understand. But as the buyer I would like the option to either wait for the eggs to become available or if there is another option (as was your case) then I would like to make that decision. Not have is assumed I'll be ok with it.

That being said, I dont agree with her wanting a refund I think that she is being petty and cheap-I myself would ask for replacement eggs if I was that bothered by it. However, I think Ebay would side with her. Mainly because she bid on your eggs but got someonelses. Even though they were the same type of quail. Ebay may see that as a Bait and Switch or maybe as false advertising your product, Im not sure how Ebay does those things to sellers.

I will commend you for going the extra step to fix the bind you were in so she could get her eggs in a timley manner and you had all the best intentions in the world. I would do business with you. She is lucky that you are bing as professional as you are and taking ownership of this situation. I mean you could have been like yeah, Im just moved to Florida....lol!

I would refund her money with an apology, block her and make any changes to your listings that you feel is necessary.

Well said and I agree. I spend allot of time looking over ads and feedback and location. What the weather is like there. Before I decide who to buy from. I am not talking about BYC but E-Bay. I would just refund the money and be done with it. It wont be worth the headache. But here is a

Well I decided to not respond to her most recent e-mail, so today I got a notice from Ebay that she'd opened a case against me. She stated that the item was not as described, saying that the eggs she received were not the right type. I know for a fact that this was a lie, so I decided to send it to the Resolution Center. I got a notice back (all this happened today by the way) that the case was closed and just about freaked! It said that she was issued a refund but nothing showed in my account?? Apparently, Ebay decided that neither of us was at fault, so she got her refund but it came directly from Ebay, not from me. So I guess Ebay isn't always on the side of the buyer, they just wanted to shut her up

I was thanked about a gazillion times for my long standing use of Ebay, good feedback, and all that stuff. I think they like me
