I've worked on it more since she's been in bed. I added a button to the top so its more fitted, put the elastic in the waist, added scales to the front to cover the seam and the fin to the tail is now on. I'm string beads for the front of the tail and the top tonight, then I'm calling it quits.
By tomorrow I should finish the hair piece, then calling it done. I have a TON of things to get ready for the state fair which is barely 2 weeks away and I want this done now, and not rushed closer to Halloween
Ok, after a few more hours here and there we are done! I think she's happy with it. (She's also still running around the house wearing it!)
Her Nana, who always has to have her hand in EVERYTHING, ordered a red wig for her, and 2 wands so she can chose which one she wants to have (oh, and an ariel treat or treat bag). I think she went a little too far personally, but my husband says shut it and leave it alone.
That is a gorgeous costume! My daughter is going to be Ariel for halloween this year, too. Her grandma actually purchased her the costume, shoes, tiara, wand EVERYTHING without asking us first. But what can you do? Not much but smile and say "Thank you". So, THANKS GRANDMA!
My MIL tried that junk and I shot her a picture of the costume in the works and my daughter got all excited and told her she was getting a REAL tail... not like the one at the store. Otherwise I bet it would have showed up at my door step with all the fixings! LOL
Well, she's already sent her half her fall wardrobe for this year.... so I guess I just have to let it go! Thank goodness she's 500 miles away in Iowa!!!
LOL! I'm glad that she can get a hint from the picture and your precious daughter!
I love both of my DD's grandma's, and definitely appreciate the help, but I haven't felt like I could EVER buy her any clothes because she had too many already. She's four and a half now... you'd think that I could start buying her clothes by NOW?
