Constance: I'm in for a combined order on vaccines, and I have two friends that probably would go in on it, too. So we'd need 12 of each total. I'll PM ya!

I listed my extra chicks on CL, already have 4 emails interested...if they come through, the chicks will all be spoken for. Yay! And they all sound like serious chix owners. I was worried I'd get some yahoos.

I got all my brooder supplies today. I'm so happy! Off to build it...

What would you recommend for the bedding? Some say sand, some say natural dirt, others think fine shavings. I can't decide.

Start with an old handtowel (with the nap for grip), after a few days change to shavings. Depending on the number of babies, you may need to clean a couple or three times per day. I don't like sand with babies.
