Arizona Chickens

Mahalo,
I've got one chick out! I think it's black, but I'm not sure cuz she bit me repeatedly(the broody, not the chick)and she is still wet. I'll check again after I do the school drop off.

Bob,
What did you find out from your research?

Cluckin Crazy-- that is either blight or powdery mildew. since it is a little early in the year for powdery mildew, I would guess blight.

Which aquarium are wanting to go to? Sea Life in Tempe / Arizona Mills, or the one at World Wild Life Zoo? Sea Life is more educational, World Wild Life Zoo is bigger, but not much hands on or educational stuff. If you don't do the educational stuff at Sea Life, you can breeze through in 20 minutes, which is disappointing because of the cost. The styrofoam Hickmans egg packs at some places have buy one get one free coupons for World Wild Life Zoo ... still really expensive, but lots of fun if you do the whole zoo. I think between admission and meals we spent over $120 for 3 of us, with the buy one get one free coupon. Should have brought my own lunch!!! My mom came with us and we thought it would be fun to just do lunch there, but it's really expensive and not that great. We had a great time, so it was worth it, but it won't be something we do often. That could have been our yearly pass for the Phx Zoo. LOL!

Just let me know when

The grapes are in the back and these tomatoes are in the front. They have always been a house apart from each other and nothing has affected the grapes yet (knock on wood). So, what do ya'll suggest? I will go to the nursery still to see what they tell me... I'm just impatient.

A website I just found suggested making a baking soda spray - anyone tried that?

I don't know what's worse, blight or leafhoppers. It does sound like blight, that would be bad. Take them to the nursery where you got 'em, they'll know immediately.

Leafhoppers: They were so bad on my grapes the first couple years you couldn't stand next to them and breathe or you'd inhale them. I ended up using green lacewing larvae. They work like magic: http://www.arbico-organics.com/product/Green-Lacewing-Eggs/beneficial-insects-predators-parasites You just have to figure out the life-history pattern of the leaf hoppers in your area (they have multiple generations) and make sure you apply the lacewing eggs when the leaf hopper larvae are active. I'll be putting them on my grapes in the next week or so.
