Arizona Chickens

Thanks! They are considerably cheaper than where I would have gone (AZ Feed on Ruthruff and I10). Even considering the drive it is well worth it!

Saw a small SUV in midtown with a BYC bumper sticker. Awesome. Also both my wife and I think we're hearing some chickens a few yard over. The chickens' evil plan for world domination is taking shape nicely.

I also thought I heard chickens in my neighborhood. I was excited until I realized the "noise" was coming from next door. The next door neighbor has a parrot ( she keeps it outside most days) and it was mimicking my girls!

Try piling chicken poop on the ant nest. They really don't like all of that ammonia. It won't get rid of them, but they will have to move the entrance to their colony. Keep doing it; you can't get rid of them, but you can make them miserable. It will make you feel better.

The only real way to get rid of black ants is to move and leave them behind.

Love it! I can't imagine what a parrot would mimic coming from our yard....sometimes I swear they sound like they're shooting an episode of Wild Kingdom out there!

Get some of the DE that everyone has just been talking about, and put a good sized scoop of it on top of the ant hill. It'll take a little while, but in a month or so, it'll get rid of the ants. I'm not sure exactly how it works, my guess is that it starves the colony out by killing the workers and making it hard for them to lay down scent trails.
