Arizona Chickens

Quote:
Aww...goats! I grew up with numerous full-size nubian goats and we also had a pygmy. So....how old? Are they male/female or neutered males (weathers) ? goats are very curious and intelligent, so they will get into or out of just about anything if your fencing isn't solid....and they can climb/jump. So your enclosure is really important....

also...ours ate "goat chow" (Purina I think?) as well as grazed on grasses, plants, and would eat some alfalfa in the winter. they will kill plants they like if you're not careful, and will eat rose bushes thorns and all....

I might be able to help some if I know more about how old they are, etc

Ok everyone...yes, the goats are adorable and yes, my hubby is fantastic...but sometimes I need a little warning - we were up til 11 last night making them a "suitable/temporary" enclosure.

the stats: goats are 10 & 4 months old, both males, & NEITHER neutered...soo smelly

So I know we can still cast. the younger one and get rid of his smell, but what about the older one?

I know, I know...this is for chickens - but I have those too. THANKS!!!

Ohhh...not neutered. Well, if possible I would get those boys 'trimmed up' ASAP. I don't know if the older one will stop stinking if neutered or if it's too late (?) That would be a vet question. Un-neutered males pee all over themselves to get that trademark billy goat stink.

Apparently chicks dig it!?

Have they been de-horned (usually done when they are babies) ? I've had goats both ways, but if they have horns they might use them, especially if they aren't neutered. Regardless they will jump up on you, rub their heads on you and be in-your-face curious about everything! It's a goat thing

Ca- sorry about your attack. I have been lucky so far with the coyotes..but they did help themselves to the neighbors watermelons that were 15 feet from my bedroom window.

Meg- I can't wait to see this costume.

Mikey D- Chickens soon. Are you taking a personal day so that you can spend all day with them.

Boy,
I miss one day and there's 10 pages to catch up on..&. People changing their pictures (avitar? ),

We lost internet last night at the start of the storm. Boy that was a big tough one!

I hope everyone got through with no damage!

Ca~ I'm so sorry to hear of your loss!
We have them around here too. I have to watch close for them when I'm out walking. I hope you get things secure enough that they wont be a worry anymore.

Meg~ Good luck with the costume, and yes, we want to see pics!

TT~ I don't know what to think of the rainbow, poptart, cat.

I really want 2 dwarf goats to trim the grass, but have heard they don't graze, so don't know.

Well,
My incubator got here friday! 5 minutes before I had to head out to get my son at school! LOL!
I was busy after that, then Sat. I babysat for the neighbor, till..5 pm, then the storm hit, and was gone most of today, so I haven't had a chance to set it up!

Will by tomorrow and have to order me some eggs!

To all of those with gardens, I hope it's a good fall harvest! Summer was rough on them I know, mine did not do well.

TT~ post a pic of the fruit on the mystery vine, that would help narrow it down.

I know in my catching up I saw a new member here, sorry I can't recall the name at the moment, but wanted to say

Have a great night all!

Laree and anyone else who wants a lemon plant- PM me and I'll mail you a lemon Grass plant. They are a really pretty ornamental grass. Not sure if they are completely hardy through the winter but I suspect they will be. If not, I'll start some again next year.
They like some water but not too much. Seem to do fine in partial sun.
I could really use some recipes that use lemon grass!
