Chickies arrived, all safe and sound. Can't figure out the red ones, though. Also can't figure out why all the yellow ones are marked? Aren't they all Cornish X? What help is that? There's twenty nine fuzz butts!

They had their first meal of tofu, kefir and cornmeal, plus vitamin water and sugar. It was a feeding frenzy, let me tell you!

Great news on the fluffy butts! Glad all is well.....

Where is Mikey hiding? Was this all too much excitement? Did he pick up his chicks? I would expect a lot more "noise" from him...

So the next step in the "development of the chicken owner" is to get an incubator. That will be followed by order eggs, order more chicks, incubate own eggs, move to a bigger farm... Just sayin!

Yeah! I'm at Broadway and Lindsey. Is that what the green means? Are you sure? Because all of my yellow ones have green Xs.

I think they use the green to mark different chicks.
I'll be in you area in about 1/2 hour! I'll pm you.

I got 13 when I only ordered 10 and 3 reds had green x's. I ordered 2 red pullets but everything else is a different color so I figure the green x's are the extras.
I don't know why they would mark the cornish X's if they don't look like anything else. Sometimes they mark underneath. Did you check there?

This starts to sound like an x-file mystery. Maybe x under the wings? (I was "lucky" mine never came with x-s. I had to guess on all of them.)

New to the BYC forum here. We're in downtown Phoenix. Another member suggested we say hi here on our intro post. We've got a small flock of six since we're downtown and it's just for eggs for the two of us. Thanks.
