Arizona Chickens

the Higley farm has "drop points" all throughout the valley. If you want to get the milk more often you can call them and find your nearest drop point.

We buy their milk. I know it's pricey, but you can't really compare raw organic milk to the stuff in the grocery store.

I'm pretty settled here for building projects as well. If you need, I've a milling machine and lath for making the spinny round parts. Let's definitely conference on the construction as I figure more minds = better products!

- Mikey! you are tempting me! Let's definitely keep in touch about the "project". We'll build the world's prettiest, best, most efficient, ... chicken pluckers! Let me know if you want to buy the other fingers, I'll participate in an order. My brain is on age-induced limited capacity: what sort of region of this lovely State do you build your coop in? (Mesa-isch? Tempe-isch? I forgot)

I know, I drool too! I picked it up several months ago & LOVE IT!

We are in far east Mesa - we could hit Apache Junction from here.

Tracy - I did look at them. They were .79 each in quantities of 100.

I cannot though, figure out a common reference point for quality comparisons.

The Ebay ones sound (detail wise) closest to the whizbang fingers - they mention a cross embossed in the end of the finger.

Anyone know what is the best lumber to use for the actual chicken run? I plan on painting it to match the coop, but am not sure if I should use douglas fir or use a pressure treated do to the termites we have out here.

I'd be afraid of the pressure treated as the treatment they pressurize it with is poison. I'm going to use Meg Moringa-seed's panels and paint them with a gallon of Exterior oops paint from Homer.

Beware of the scratch at Mesa Feed Barn. I bought 10 lbs this morning. Ended up with 8 lbs of scratch and 2 lbs of bugs. Now I get to try and clear up the lovely infestation in the trunk of my car. Grrrr.

Can you take it back or is it not worth it?

Why? A part from the bug infestation in the car which is really annoying the scratch has now additional protein and a LOT of entertainment value. Chickens love food that moves.

So just put a chicken in the trunk. It will be clean in a few seconds.

(I so kneed a sbell checker built into my kee bored)

Three cheers to Bob's Henhouse for restocking the Moringaseeds!!! I will now redistribute in a more generous fashion! I am also attempting to sprout in recycled sixpacks!
