The only thing I could find was:

Tucson Poultry, Pigeon and Fancy Fowl Club 41st Annual Show November 19-20 Tucson, Arizona Muriel Ewer, 6262 South Sorrell Lane, Tucson, AZ 85746 (520) 883-0857

I thought there was a phx show around the 20th or so but I cannot find it.

State Fair birds coop in on Wednesday, they will be there through Sunday, cooping out Sunday night.

4Corners show is in Farmington NM the first weekend in November. This is a fabulous show. Bert Stark is the show secretary. Call me if you want her phone number to get a catalogue.

APO Lawn show is in Tempe the first Saturday in December (the 6th?). APO big show is February 10-12 at the State Fairgrounds. I'm the contact for both these.

THere is also a lawn show in Tucson tomorrow at Muriel's trying to decide if I can avoid putting off all the chores I need to do here and go.

Gosh!
I live here and am not sure where that is. lol..

I do know it's west of me, if it's an 883- phone #

North of Valencia, west of Midvale Park. There are better crossroads that are slightly closer, I just can't recall the names offhand. The lawn show tomorrow is at her ranch. The November show will be at the Pima County Fairgrounds.

Midwest. I believe it's Illinois somewhere. If you go into the Meat Bird section, a bunch of those guys are going.

I found the Illinois show - I thought arora must be talking about a local show.

INDIANA! Yes to midwest; no to Illinois.

Check Pets, Inc. at SOuthern & Mill in Tempe and there is another reptile store on University between RUral & either Mcclintock or the 101.

Thanks, we'll be in Tempe tonight but I doubt Tammy's gonna want to stop and PU a lizard.

Do the commercial chicken farmers leave the lights on 24/7 or is that just a rumor? I would think short term wouldn't be all that bad but hey I can sleep through anything!

So what do we do for heat if we do not use an incandescent light?

Tracy - are you serious about limiting food to 12 hours?

***Edited for emphasis***

YES, DO NOT let them free feed! (Even though I'm not Tracy and don't even eat chicken).

Would regular bird netting like this work? http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 Maybe a couple of packages would cover your area and it doesn't seem too expensive. Because it drapes, maybe it would work under your tree canopies.

Boy, I'm a slacker on chicken maintenance. What do you using the permethrin for? I read about ticks, lice, and mosquitos. How often to you like to use it? As far as the dusting, I assume you use DE. And last question, I promise, how often do you deworm?

I us DE for dusting, unless I see a problem. I'm dunking them in permethrin because I thought I saw a sign of mites on one that was sleeping in the trees. For worming, you can use ivermectin or valbazan. I rarely worm but since they are caught and not laying figured it would be a good time.
