Arizona Chickens

yeah i'm in Tempe and it gets 115 out here in the summer. once a year at least 2 die

i've only had backyard chickens for about 2 years but its usually when were on vacation and have someone else looking after them. even one year we had a girl who came out at LEAST 2x's a day and still one died

the best thing to do is give them frozen corn, frozen water bottles (for them to lay on) and kind of a swampy area with lots of shade. best of luck with your chickens!!! im sure you found out they all have their own personal personalities and how much fun they are!!
 
Well, I met Dr. Anderson today.

He's doing someone's roo tomorrow and he'll de-crow mine on Friday.

After I get him back on Friday, I'll let you know how he did.

I really hate plumbing. It always happens in the dark, when it's freezing, on holidays or when it's 115 degrees. It always involves poop, too.

Sometimes plumbing can be a real pain, but it sure beats an outdoor loo. Especially when it is real cold, rainy or extremely hot.
