Show Hall is mostly setup. Looks AWESOME. I picked up awards, and THEY look AWESOME. Took forever getting Office Max to print coop cards, but finally got them done--left while they were still hanging them on cages to pick up awards.

TONS of seramas (well, not tons, they ARE tiny bird, lol)! I'm exhausted, so...nighty night!

We just got into town. I am sooooo exxxxcited about the show. I cant wait to meet everyone and especially excited to not have kids for a few hours at the show. Hubby thinks that he is going to take them to do fun stuff. we will see how long that lasts.

We almost didnt come due to the 2 year old locking herself in the van and both sets of keys were in there! It has been one of those weeks! It took 20 minutes to get her out. It was the first time I was grateful for DH criminal background as a punk teenager!!

I've got the day off today. I work from 6:30AM until about 10:30AM on Saturday and I'm free after that.

I am sad. My poor old silky Sage is totaly blind. I noticed that I was able to catch her very easy and when I put her down I noticed she was a bit unsteady on her feet. I know she is old and not laying anymore but then today I saw her shuffling along with her beak to the ground. I went over and waved my hand in front of her face and then picked her up and she never did any blinking. The eyes are not clouded but no responce. She isn't interested in food. Chickens most eat with their eyes more than smell. Poor old dear was such a good nanny bird. She took under her wing literaly Ivan and then 3 young chicks I put with the flock. I can't let her suffer if she isn't eating! I don't know how to put her down if that is the best thing!

How sad.

I am a Mama again!!! Just brought home these 2 tuckered out EE's. They are 2 days old. Next week, hopefully, I get Silver Laced Wyandottes and Cuckoo Marans.

What kind of chicks are you raising this time? I've read that mixing ground oatmeal into their food prevents the sticky butt.

Macaroni! - What type of chickens do you have these days? You usually have the best! I'll have to remember your offer

Arizonachicken - that egg made me cringe! Did the chicken need an episiotomy?

Rufus - thank you for the weed tips! I wish I could get some globemallow started. The seeds I took from Gallo haven't sprouted yet.

So when does it open today? Saturday?

I've got the day off today. I work from 6:30AM until about 10:30AM on Saturday and I'm free after that.

We'll be open this afternoon and evening for people to coop in their birds. You can certainly come by, but that is really all that will be going on today--there may well be some bird sales--once someone has birds in sale cages, if someone is interested, they may want to buy then. My understanding is that you do not need to pay parking today, but will need to tomorrow.

There will be an American Bantam Association table (actually 2) where you can purchase memberships, standards and lots of other ABA stuff. But that probably won't be up and selling until tomorrow. Tomorrow we open at 6:30 and judging starts at 9. The gameshow begins at 8. Here is the schedule again:
