Arizona Chickens

Mahonri-

I did send you a PM about the SS yesterday. If not one has snatched her up, I'd love to buy her.

Of COURSE I want some of your eggs, but the bator is full--TOO full actually. I have always turned by hand, but I figured if I was going to be doing some mass hatches, I should invest in a turner. Unfortunately, it also limits the number of eggs I can jam in there. Now there are some eggs a bit precariously perched. (my hens' eggs, not the good ones)

Everyone-

A few of the BCM eggs are so large, they almost don't fit in the turner. I kinda wish I had the goose egg cups! Should I keep the big eggs in the middle, away from the heating element?

Meanwhile, I will try and get a picture of this week's hatch. Today's weather calls for a deluge of cuteness.

everyone

I'm just checkin' in.

We were supposed to go to the Desert Museum for my DS photography 4-H project, but don't you know it, it had to rain. Now that we are home, the sun is out.

Ran to the feedstore today, and almost gave in to getting a couple of chicks, but luckily, common sense kicked in. I need to wait until after the fair. All of you talking about incubating and hatching are making me jealous! And to top it off, my friend just bought an incubator and offered to hatch some eggs for me. I just know that if I had chicks they would probably not fare well during the week we are at fair, as the DH will be feeding, so I have to make it as simple as I can.

Good luck to all of you hatching, and be sure to post pictures of your little chicks. They are sooo cute and always make me smile.

The bleeder chick is the one in the front with sticky head: She'll get another bath later today.

The ziploc bag was laying right across the mug - I pulled it up 4-5 hours ago and the humidity shot up to 65 percent and has stayed there, so... either both my hygrometers (sp?) are off by about 10% or the test is inaccurate.
