Arizona Chickens

I cant imagine your neighbors like you with him around. HOLY LOUD. it is fine here because our coop is pretty far from the house. You should have seen my sunday morning trying to get him to shut up before he woke everyone up in tempe!!
I have to keep them "locked" up during the night and only let them out when I think the neighbors are all ready up. Most of the loud crowing is during the day when neighbors are either at work or to "high" to care. It annoys me probably before it annoys them. the following is subliminal and shouldn't be read directly..... move back move back move back arizona arizona arizona.......

Has anyone in Arizona Chickens have luck with the Hatch?

We had 18 hatch out of 28 set. We had 3 turkeys hatch but we had to cull one (constant seizures) and 15 fuzzy butts. Mrs. Kevs and the kids always crack the unhatched to see what the situation inside was. This time we had 3 fully formed turkeys and a chick that never pipped, the chick had even completely absorbed the yolk? What gives? Wierd

I have had only one hatch and that looks like all.
Bootsie lost all the green eggs! I opened them up and it wasn't the raise in temperature that killed them when I lock them down as I thought. 5 eggs never developed but all the others had feathered chicks that must have quit a few day before lockdown for they was lots a yoke left. I don't know what happened! I so wanted some Americaunas for Denise!

Ok I'm cross posting as I already posted a thread about this already.

Anyway what is the best roofing material for AZ Coops? My coop is 12 x 10 FT Slant Roof.

I trying to keep the cost down. With the ease of installment I'm leaning towards rolled roofing over shingles.

Suggestions please.

BTW I live in Gilbert

My first coop had the rolled roofing and it worked out good, easy to install and cheaper.

YIKES! Momma hen picked up a chick by the toe and broke it's tiny toe. What gives? Did she think it was a worm? I put neosporin on it, but can't splint it since its so small, so if it heals, it'll have a crooked toe. :(.

The deal breaker is that neice. If they moved I would consider it. There is not enought prozac in the world to keep me sane around that child for more than 3 days every 4 months. I it got even worse. She was suppose to share something with my 4 year old and when my daughter told her that she wasnt sharing she said, "you are lucky I am giving you any!" She the perfect picture of demon spawn! Can you say despise!!!! I already told my husband that if both her parents die we are not taking her. I am find with her going into foster care!!! You would all understand after 5 minutes with this child. I really am good with kids, but this one sends me into rage.
