Arizona Chickens

Well last night I got all caught up reading a weeks worth of post then typing out this huge post and when I hit the backspace button it took me back a page and I lost everything. So, long story short, the wind caused one of my girls to get stuck in the treadle feeder after the kids left it open, I found her unharmed but thirsty. My dog got a really bad ear infection, from playing in the sprinklers, that I've been treating this week. I have to go to Houston next week and am not looking forward to missing my Chicken TV but looking forward to a week without whining and fighting children. I love my kids but sometimes this mommy just need a break. I planted some pea, green beans and sunflower seeds along the side of the run to provide some shading. Those have grown about 2-3 inches out of the ground. Hopefully the chickens don't eat them. My attempt at keeping the chickens off the patio with the perimeter surrounded by tulle attached to stakes didn't work out so well. The tulle is too fragile and tore right off and was blowing in the wind. Next try, chicken wire.

Sorry to read about the unsuccessful hatches but it was nice to see all the little Easter chicks too.

Take care everyone. I may or may not be on over the next few weeks. It depends on what my internet connection looks like next week.
