Arizona Chickens

Got an egg from my youngest chicken!!! What does this mean? All of my chickens are old enough to lay eggs! Operation Get Lots of Eggs, BEGIN!!! :weee
Almost all of mine are laying now too-4 of 5. I'm feeling a very strong desire to get more chicks, does that feeling every pass? darn chicken math!

Just got some new birds. I had 2 australorps, ones died from heat I think (it was 117 the day it died) the other got out of the coop and one of my little shih-tzus got it. Sad I know. Since then i have changed things around, by making a new enclosure using an old trampoline and adding a mister to keep them cool during the sumer. They say australorps are good heat birds but i think theres a limit. if you live in phoenix i think you need some sort of cool down devise.

My new birds. A Rhode Island Red and a Leghorn. I also have a naked neck, she is not to happy to have company though. she hasn't layed in 2 weeks so I'm a little concerned.

I love my chickens!!!!

My neighbors mentioned how my goose was rather annoying with her honking, then I reminded them of their barking dogs

That was the end of that. Honestly though, a life without chickens is a life that is not yet fully complete

so if I just get the tub of worms (I do these once in a while) would I just throw them in with the potato and that other stuff and let them do their thing and multiply?

Thanks, Di

That's just about it. You can look at my mealworm page in my sig. line and see how I raise them. If you're buying mealworms to feed to your birds, you definitely should raise your own. Anyone can do it. You can put as much time or as little in to it as you want.
