Here is a video from this morning. Still looks so much like a hen. Do you think it may be gender confused? Hate to get rid if s/he is a hen.

Gosh, I still think it might be a hen... I've heard of other's hens attempting at crowing like roosters and it does sound like an attempt, not a true crow. I'll be interested to see what everyone else thinks. Is "she/he" old enough to start laying so you would know for sure? Also, has "she/he" done the dance to any of the other girls?

Sounds like my cockrels, I'm sorry to say. They have to "practice" and sound like big squeaky toys for a while. How old is s/he? On a positive note, we had a buff Orpington hen that "crowed" every morning when I was a kid. I've heard that hens can do that, especially in the absence of a rooster. I am leaning toward cockrel for yours, however.

Does anyone have a problem with their dogs eating the chicken feed? I was buying the dogs gluten free food because one of them has allergys. That doesn't do much good when they are eating chicken feed at every opportunity. I'm open to suggestions!

My dogs love to eat chicken feed but then they throw it right back up. I heard it is not good for them. I have to keep my eye on them when I open up the run.

Thanks everyone. He is gorgeous. I am getting BBS eggs shipped to me. They arrive sometime next week. Pastrymama will be putting them in her incubator.

He was hatched on 12/12/12 so that make him 13 weeks old. I still have no bites on my roos that I put on CL. ALL 3 were "singing" this morning. Neighbors haven't complained....yet. My hens are still louder with their egg song.

Before I got my second Rooster, my little Brahma Bantam crowed JUST LIKE THAT. She may be a runt, but the others ALL KNOW not to mess with her.

I would hold off. S/he doesn't have the comb, nor the waddle of a Roo, so maybe it's just someone that wants to be bigger than she really is?

I would hold off. S/he doesn't have the comb, nor the waddle of a Roo, so maybe it's just someone that wants to be bigger than she really is?

Well, 1/2 the chicks are gone. It looks so empty out there now.

He took 8, we have 7 and I will hit the feed store for one of their Wyandottes!

I really want her/him to be a pullet...Will see what the future brings but I still need to find a home for my marans boys.
