Arizona Chickens

I
Yes I would love to check it out... I work on Saturdays. Do you do sundays or week days?? I am asking around to different friends for
equipment.. & advice.. I am so excited..

I brew on Sunday quite often, just not this week. I don't do weekdays because I work M-F and sometimes Saturday.

Praise God for a great surgery. He was a bit sick from the medicine. Other than that the doctor said all went well..
Thank you so much for your prayers...

He's praising... LOL

I had found 1 mite on one of my girls (8 chickens). I both powdered and used DE, did the cleaning thing. I also watched my girls right after powdering them. I counted a total of less then a dozen in death throws. I fallowed up the next 2 weeks. I still examen about half my girls every day. I have not found any more. I keep their coop dusted with DE now. The problem is my coop (purchased on line) is now falling apart.

The coop I am making will be made with cleaning in mind. It is not going to fall apart. Not sure just how many it will hold. The pent house should make it nice for my girls. In the winter I will shutter the windows.

I do not yet know what 1,2 or 3 is yet. They were hatched 5/7. I hope at lest 1 is a pullet. If I can not find a Columbian Wyandotte, and if I have 2 BR Pullets, I will keep them, that will be my 4. If not 2 BR pullets but one then that is where I will have to stop. I am not going to introduce only one in the future. At the first of next month I will post again pictures. If any one has a guest by the picture let me know.

OMG they are so darn C-U-T-E!!!

I don't get it, 5 girls have laid eggs of my 8. But I am getting 2 eggs a day, one today. I can not find any ground eggs. I wonder if I am doing something wrong?
I just changed their feed, I am still fermenting it. I had putting oats, millet (white, red, and German), sunflower both shelled and unshelled, punkpin seeds (raw), barley (whole), and svelt (not sure of the spelling). Not equale quantities, mostly sunflower, millet and oats. A out 1:8 seeds and regulate egg feed. It has soy in it. I didn't catch that when I read the ingredients. I do not like soy. I need to find a no soy feed that I can afford. I have the info on other sources. Need to fallow up on it.

They are terribly spoiled. When I just give them greens they do not eat it. When I chop it up into thin strips it is gone.

They are doing well. I don't know if we mentioned it, but the one was definitely a rooster and the other two were hens. You and my wife were right on. Neither are laying yet, though. Batman is also thriving, and laying vefy consistently. She has beautiful dark brown eggs, as promised. I am so anxious for my other Marans to start, so we can have their chocolate browns. We have fivethat should start laying in the next month or so. Woohoo!
You got a trio of the 'real deal' New Hampshires

Would love to see some photos sometime! I hatched them on Feb. 22nd...so may at the point of lay around 5-6 months--August perhaps. The cockerel may not start to crow until mid to late summer...since these are breeder and not hatchery birds, maturation is a bit lengthier...but lifespan/vigor and production extended in return. They should be real good lookin' birds and hard working too. Glad that sweet and pretty Batman is doing well too. Love to see photos of her too as a mature hen...she will be an official 'hen' in early September.

I tried posting photos last night before you even asked, but the Forum kept crashing on me. Let's try again...

Lookin' good...they still have a lot of growing to do yet...excited to see them "all grows up". I noticed they're such nice birds to be around too. thanks so much for the photos...keep me posted please... probably will be the biggest of your flock when mature.
