Arizona Chickens

I found a tiny half egg like that a couple months ago. I'm thinking probably dove

Darn doves eat all my chicken feed. One climbed into the feeder, emptied it out everywhere and suffocated in the process. Doves= annoying+stupid ...

Anyone have best practices in keeping the wild birds away from feed? I've stopped using the feeder because it was costing me a fortune (and killing stupid birds, two so far) and have been simply hand feeding the Beeps in the morning.

i am trying to see if I can host the "party here", I have am 8x4 work table we could use, it will be BYOC X2. Bring Your Own Chicken and Bring Your Oun Chair. I am very short on comferts, when my oldest daughter moved out she sold everything I had.

Hope these show up. I found this egg in the yard. Was hoping someone could identify it? I don't think it's an egg from my new girls but could be. It's awfully small though. What do ya'll think?

Could be a pigeon. It looks too large for a dove, but just about the right size for a pigeon.

Oh good!! I'd hate to think my NG's (new girls) are laying eggs anywhere. Plus I think all my NG's are brown egg layers. Thanks for the input, as always byc people are great!!

I agree with Mary, looks like a mourning dove egg to me.

I would make a run & use a curtain for entering & exit for your flock. OR lock them up in their coop and feed them there..??

I have extra chairs & a large table.. & beer ;) do we have a date & time? Or did I miss it listed on the Fourm?

What a summer! Lost 3 chickens with the heat and now I have lost one chicken for the last 3 days! I went out just now with frozen and I lost 2 more! One was my beloved 6 year old silky rooster Tumbleweed!

They have a good coop and go in every night when I call them. Nice laying boxes. Two were still laying. One was my blue egg layer. No reason for Tumbleweed not to come. I have looked all over! I have seen coyote in the area but they have never jumped the field fencing. We also have large dogs that mark territory and bark so I guess maybe hawks? No feathers at all are found! Would the Harris Hawk be able to pick up full grown hens, they were not a large breed, Morans, americanus, and young reds and my silky, with out feathers being left?
